Hey Iconoclasts,
Two straight years of monthly client newsletters was not a streak I intended on breaking once I got momentum.
Turns out, planning for your first baby and your grandpa passing away fill up most of the creative brain space you had in the past.
However, like Michael Jordan with a fax machine, I do have a comeback planned. More on that below!

Smell Ya Later! (June 1 – September 1)
I have so many cool updates to share about what is going on at our firm and things we are working on. However, that can wait a week.
For the first time in 15 years and my entire career, I’m taking some extended time off.
For a good reason!! Baby Haigh (gender unknown) is due in 3 weeks.
What this means for you
Nothing changes. There’s a reason we are growing such a large and capable team. Life happens and we never want the quality of our work to live and die by one person being available.
If you are used to emailing me, simply email stephanie@iconocapital.com or team@iconocapital.com and your burning questions shall be answered (probably faster than you’re used to).
Our advisory team is down one person for 3 months, so give Jack, Gene, and Matt a little extra grace during their time of need.
I’ll be back in mid-September with a much higher tolerance for sleep deprivation.

📖 Laziness Does Not Exist (Devon Price)
If a person’s behavior doesn’t make sense to you, it is because you are missing a part of their context. It’s that simple.
I loved this essay written by a social psychologist suggesting that situational constraints are almost always the answer when someone is perceived as “lazy”, especially children.
When is the last time you responded to a person’s ineffective behavior with curiosity rather than judgment?
⚡ The Heatmap x MIT Electricity Price Hub
If you’ve been wondering why your RGE or ConEd bill looks the way it does, check out this new tool from Heatmap News and MIT that lets you look up residential electricity prices by state, utility, congressional district, county, or zip code. You can also track how they’ve changed over the last 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 years.
💳 The Ridge Wallet Tracker
My wife loses her wallet and keys 3-5x per year. Keys were an easy fix, throw an Airtag on those things. But the wallet was harder, until I discovered Ridge makes a credit card sized tracker that works with the Apple Find My app.

🏁 That’s a Wrap
Stay tuned for 2 more newsletters the rest of the month where I will update you on all of the amazing things we are working on for you.
If you have any questions or concerns about me being out of the office for three months, I’m here for you. Except I’m not, leave me alone.
XoXo
Chris
